Eligibility Requirements

Academic licenses are available for purchase and use by accredited educational institutions to support classroom instruction, student lab use, and on campus faculty research. Purchase and use for commercial purposes is prohibited. Maplesoft reserves the right to deny orders in situations where academic status cannot be verified.

Licensing Options

Your purchase of Maple or Maple Flow Academic Edition provides a single-user, academic license of the purchased product.

Some academics products give you a choice of license types:

Annual License:


  • Annual subscription, paid automatically once per year.

  • Automatic updates and new versions throughout the subscription period.

  • Requires an active subscription. If the subscription is not renewed, the product will no longer be usable.

Standard License:

  • One-time purchase, product license does not expire.

  • Includes a 1-year membership in the Elite Maintenance Program (EMP), which provides updates and new versions for the first year.

  • After the first year, EMP must be renewed to continue receiving updates and new versions. Without an active EMP subscription, product is retained, but no new releases will be provided.

Elite Maintenance Program (EMP):

  • Annual subscription, paid automatically once per year.

  • Provides the latest versions of your Maplesoft product at no extra cost during the active subscription period.
